So here is the new ride. Scandic WT 600 four-stroke. It is a best for sure. Lots more power than my 93 440 LT. Lots more electrical too! I actually read the manual and have it in a ziplock under the rear seat. The box is for the firewood cutting gear but since I got the beater going I used that this year. We have a lack of snow in Valdez and what we have where I go is all blown away. There is storage under the rear seat or it can be removed. Interesting features. Two keys: 1. Training 2. Regular It has three running modes: Standard, Economy and I guess Peppy? Really a nice machine that wants to see snow.

That Sport mode is a lot of fun, but I don't trust myself in the trees with it.

I had a "registered" polaris Ranger on tracks all loaded with gear in the parking lot at Nancy Lake rec area for a long weekend with my wife ice fishing and staying in a state cabin. Along came F&G informing me an atv/utv on tracks are not allowed or classified the same as snowmobiles. I even made a few calls to confirm....yup, there are issues on that subject.

Our spring was pretty barren of snow. I cut wood with the other sled and drove across gravel on the river bed with that one. The Scandic! I had to move it the other day. Primed it and first pull of the cord it fired right up. I had to move the new Scandic, as it sat all summer. Second try and it fired right up too. So now I have two working sleds. Leaving to deer hunt until the end of Dec. now.
