    Default Cut and Recrown BFR

I'm new to Eagle River, and am looking for a local gunsmith who can cut and recrown the barrel on a Magnum Research BFR (475).

Any recommendations based on first hand experience are appreciated.

    thanks.

    Nate

    Default Local

I should clarify when I say "local" I mean anywhere from Palmer or Talkeetna south to Portage...

    Thanks -

MNP isn't local, but from the specimens I've seen, they are as good as it gets when it comes to working over Ruger revolvers.

I've seen some work done by Wild West Guns to a buddies SRH, and it was top notch. I've been turned off by the attitudes of the sales guy there so have avoided their shop.

Yeah stay away from wild west.

Precision Arms in Archorage is a good place, he's a local working out of home in Anchorage.

The folks at Mag-na-port are great to deal with. I sent them my Kimber rifle barrel last winter and had it magnaported. Quick turn around time. Give them a call.
A gun is like a parachute. If you need one, and donít have one, youíll probably never need one again
