Default Any recent PWS deer reports?

Anyone been out in the sound lately, I would assume with the weather there had to be a few out. I'll be headed out in the next few weeks and hopefully hit the rut and get something close enough to put an arrow in.

I'm hoping to get out to Naked Island this week, it'll be my first time deer hunting in PWS. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks

Hunted solo for 1.5 days saw one black bear and no deer. Hunted one of the smaller islands with low density to see if any deer were making to this side of the sound. Best weather of the year less the 2' out front coming and going from Seward.

Heard its been getting hit hard with low success rates. Put on some hiking boots as they seem to still be high up.

Short days is making it tougher to to get up high and back to boat.
Not very high success rate from the reports I have been hearing.

That said, hope to get out before the end of season.

We saw several boats out on Saturday. With all these nice days we've had so far this year, I'm betting the islands have been hit hard too. The only deer we saw were way up high. On the very top actually.

Was out the weekend of the 22nd. Our group of 4 came back with 4 deer. Didn't see as many this year as we did last year. We hiked up to 1200' and didn't see a single deer up that high, although the weather came down on us and I think the deer were hunkered down. The deer we did get were anywhere from 200' to 600'.

Were headed to Naked 12/2-12/6. Hopefully there will be snow to push them down. I have a friend who hunted there and said there were several abandoned buildings to explore. Anyone got any pictures of them/locations? Not looking to loot, just get some good photos for the wall.

According to the naked Island webcam, there is no snow on the ground today. http://www.cvinternet.net/~weatherca...Naked%20Island I've been all over that island and I've never seen or heard of abandoned buildings. Let us know if you find any though. Good luck out there.

Was at the launch for a little while on Sunday and saw a boat come in with a couple dandy bucks stacked on the back deck. I didn't get the story, but they were pretty impressive deer for the Sound.
