With all the news of caribou numbers being to high and asking folks to shoot cow caribou, I feel as though I need to personally apologize for killing bears like this. I realize there was predator control regulations in place
To kill more bears, baiting allowed, increased season, tag fees dropped. Now we are all suffering with to many caribou! The calf survival from all the bears being killed is creating more hunting opportunity for tag holders and increased tag numbers. But I feel a little responsible for the chaos in the fish and game office and the paperwork involved in trying to quickly curtail the nelchina caribou population. I blame the non residents for all this extra hunting time and increase in tags for residents benefit.
Like the non resident who came up and dropped this fat fat 8' sow grizzly two days ago. Shame on him.
