    Question Aluminum pipe or tubing

Who stocks anodized aluminum tubing or pipe in Anchorage? I have bought it from Alaska Steel before, but are there others in town? Google is not helping me much.

I am starting to look at making a rod holder combo awning for my Hewes.

I'm not aware of anyone that stocks tube. Pipe is all over the place. I just had some tube brought in for a boat project I'm doing. As far as anodized, I've never seen it come like that.

Try Greer Tank...243-2425. I've bought both new and remnants there. I'd call 1st to see if they carry anodized...if they don't, they might refer you to who does.

ya might just keep watching here http://www.marinepartdepot.com/fishrodholders.html they sell them cheaper than you could buy the materials for and free shipping to AK. Sign up for their flyers and get another 15% off.

LOL Those E-dynes are powerful for sure. I'll get with ya later on if I decide to build it. Might just have AKmud build it for me after I get everything else installed in the boat.

Can't wait to see what design you have for your canopy/rod holder.

I am stealing the design from a boat I saw at the whittier tunnel. It will be modified so that a dinghy can slide under it with rod holders integrated.

Rob (akmud) can build you one almost cheaper than you can go buy the material for. By the time you get done with gas and wire and long sticks of pipe materials it is about a wash except you saved your time!

I was and am still amazed at the electrodyne. Quiet, efficient, fast, and strong.

You can buy tube & pipe from Reeve Air Motive; Weld Air Alaska; Grainger & maybe Dowland Bach but you will have to call them to see if they stock anodized material. You could also try SteelFab; General Mechanical or H&K Sheetmetal.

I have found it at boat shops that recover canvas tops. Just start calling them.
