Hunted south. 2 mallards and a teal. Lots of birds prior to lst. Didn't seem like that many guns in the 20 Mile/Portage/Placer area for the opener.

Hunted Fairbanks area, and didn't seem like a lot of guns either. Got 2 pintails, slow morning overall and hard retrieval of one lost opportunities on other birds. Still awesome to be out again.

Home with 4. Should have limited but not the guns fault.

Hunted on the Peninsula and came home with 11 between two of us. Should have limited but was a bit rusty. Got the dog some good work though. I did notice that most of the birds we shot were adult birds and got a few mallards with curls and a bit of color, seemed early to be seeing that. Seemed odd not to have a strap full of juvies on the opener.

STILL rusty for me....I think 3 flights came in before I hit one... Always great to be out again tho...!!!

Oh....and thought I'd lost my duck hunting partner when he moved back out of state, but thanks to the forum that didn't happen...

Not good for me. One shoveler. A couple missed opportunities due to dinking around. Overall I was in a poor location I think

Yeah but you finished strong. I'm going to be checking the sights on my gun when I get home, I think they're a bit off

Didn't do as good as I was hoping. Seemed very slow where I was but ended up with two and missed some others. If anyone needs a hunting partner on 10, 12 or 13 Sept let me know. I would really like to get out where more ducks are.

I don't think I heard a box of shells fired in the Delta area.

A total of four shots fired in the fields near Delta this morning.......not a cloud in the sky nor a flock visible.

Long day at work, only had an hour or so to hunt before sunset. Saw 5, two committed, missed both. But it was BEAUTIFUL out!

Slow morning in Delta. Maybe saw 150 on the wing. Partner and I each managed a widgeon. Most groups were bagging 2 or 3 for the AM. It'll pick up, it's early yet.

Great weather, no wind and mild temps.

We ended up with 7 opening morning - one northern, one mallard, two godeneye, one widgeon, two teal. It was perfect for the dog's first hunt. Story to follow.
