    Default 50 cal ammo

I received an email offer to trade a 1 1/2 ammo cans of 50 cal ammo for a boat I have. Is it even legal to have that much 50 cal ammo?

There are several shops around town selling 50 BMG ammo as loose surplus rounds or boxed commercial production. The ammo is legal to own, use, and sell. As a legal product, I can't see any limitations as to quantity (other than the funds in your wallet).

    Why would it be illegal?

Be aware of the maker and type of ammo. If it is incendiary or tracer, there isn't much use for it, as it has a high possibility of setting the countryside on fire. If it is reloads, of any type, then no more than 1.50 a round, as it does not have the value of first production ammo. ( I shoot a lot of this stuff).
