Default Made beer batter halibut, what to do with used oil?

I made some beer batter halibut last night but what should I do with the 1 gallon of used cooking oil? I can take it to the city hazardous waste disposal on Fridays and Saturdays. I also am wondering if it can be reused? If so how long can it sit for? Does it need to be refrigerated?

I pour it back into the jug and put it in the pantry to reuse the next time I make halibut. I usually use 3-4 times and then discard it

I use the oil, allow to cool, filter back into original container and freeze. I have gotten many fries from the same oil using this method.

Could save it for bear baiting.
