    Default Sheep Cape for sale-salted/dried

    12.5" bases, salted, dried Probably enough cape to do a pedestal mount.

    Just curios,
    if you already fleshed & turned the cape why not salt & dry it.

    they last a lot longer salted & dried rather than chancing freezer burn, which can cause slipping in the tanning process.

    Ya, not a bad idea. I guess I had gone back and forth on keeping/mounting or selling and the next thing you know a year has gone by!

    Ya, that happens.

    I have 25 African animals & another dozen North American that I can never seem to get time to mount for myself, so I might as well sell them.

    Atleast I tanned & put them in the freezer so they will last forever or till the freezer croaks. LOL.

    You should have no problem selling it for that price.

    I needed to free up freezer space. Thawed and salted now. Looks just like it did when I froze it. No freezer burn.

    do you still have it? not sure if it will work mine has 14 inch bases. will have to talk to a taxidermist.
