    Default Fiberglass Remodle

I am going to rebuild a 32' wegley that i recently acquired. I plan on gutting the back end to flush deck it and installing a rsw system. Ive done glass work but not a project this big. Im wondering where i can acquire composit core materials resin and mat, ect. Also wondering if their is such a thing as 2" C channel that would glass onto the top lip of the bins, im trying to figure out how to make the bins water tight. I was thinking that i would have aluminum hatch covers built. appreciate any input

make the channel, use some aluminum channel wax it and start laying up glass on it. I've made quite a bit of angle & channel that way. Plasti-core or nida core for your decks & bulkheads. CAC Plastics in wasilla or Fiberlay in anchorage will have all the materials you'll need. You might as well buy a drum of resin you'll need one if not more. Do you have a heated shop to work in ? Where are you located that might help figuring out where to get hatch cover made.

I have a shop out in Naknek. Theirs a boat builder in anchorage a friend of mine worked for I cant remember the name of the shop it was off old seward, I dont have the break that will do a doubble brake on the hatch covers so i figured Id get him to do that part. Ill give the two places you mentioned a call Im just trying to get the materials out on the last barge that sails west. I figured id need at least a drum.

reynolds marine http://www.reynoldsmarine.biz/ can make you whatever you need. they build lots of PWS bowpickers. get 2 drums and sell off what you don't use. 25 gals of acetone, case of chip brushes, some air popping rollers, 5 gals of hull & deck putty, case of resin rollers etc the list goes on & on. Buddy of mine has finished/built 5 wegley's in the last few years, does a beautiful job, no wood in the boats at all uses plasti core for decks & bulkheads.
