    Default Russian River Rainbows

I have never fished the Russian, and would like to fish for rainbows after the salmon slayers are gone. When would be the ideal time for that? And does anyone know when the USFS closes the parking lots at the campground?

I try and spend every Sept up there and love it. Prefer the Russian when the water is higher and running hard, but Sept has been good for me.

The Feds wont close the road until snow and Ice make it unsafe to enter. I camp and fish there until the end of Oct the last 2 years no problem. Mother Nature controls the road

Thanks for the info. I'm gonna hit the river come September for rainbows. I have never fished the Russian so I am pretty stoked.

If you want to grab a beer when you're passing through town, let me know. Would love to make it down there to toss some flies as well, but not sure what September looks like. Lots of hunts to take family members on, so I'll be in full Sherpa mode.
