    Default Pws deer opener

Anyone make it out into the sound for the deer opener? Planning to head out on the 11th to naked Island if the weather will allow it. Had good luck out there and seen lots of young deer last year at the same time, hoping for a repeat.

Made it out last weekend. Hiked to alpine day before opener and saw 5 deer. Looked promising. Opening morning fog rolled in and couldnt see 30 ft in front of us. Will be back out in a couple weeks.

Awesome did you go to montegue? See a lot of deer?
Last year I went to monty for a few days and then on up to naked for a few more days. On the way I just wanted to catch a rockfish for dinner, stopped off the point between rocky and zaikof Bay I was using a 6' bass rod and as soon as it hit bottom with a 2oz jig I got about a 65lb halibut. I took it but all I wanted was one black rockfish for dinner. Got a deer too and seen a lot more on both islands. Good forcast this weekend, can't wait to get back out there, best meat up here.

Was on a glacier tour in early July, 5th I think it was. We seen deer on the end of ester barely inside the passage. Hardly any beach showing, but a few deer were there. I've personally seen tracks many times in June or July on beaches on a few islands. Hence not only good hunting in late season. Ones on the cruise coulda been popped easily if in season and not a tourist boat hahahaha
