Fishing Report: Wed, Jul 27th at 3:00pm
Salmon donít move much when the river is excessively high; that is one reason we close when the river is too high. I believe thatís why the fish counts at Miles Lake have dropped off, causing Fish and Game to make some closures to the dipnet fishery; August 1 & 2 will be closed and August 8, 9 and maybe part of the 10th, and probably August 15 through 17 (but fishing should be continually open after that). There should be a lot of fish between here and Miles Lake, so donít think fishing is over for the year. Because of all these things, Sam and I have decided to stay open through August 27th. We have also decided to remain open on Sundays starting this week, July 31st. We understand you still need fish to fill your freezer and we will do all we can to try to make that happen. Monday and Tuesday this week averaged about 10 fish per permit. The water is still high and spots are limited. We hope to see you in the next month.
