Default Side by side registration sticker location

Where do you put your registration stickers on your side by sides?

Why do people buy registration stickers for atvs and sxs ? Seems like all the dealers "say you have to have one" I have bought over 150 atvs and never once bought a registration sticker. Maybe its different depending on the areas you ride? on the coast maybe ?

    DMV says:
Snowmachines and ATVs are not titled in Alaska, however snowmachines are required to be registered, unless they are operated solely on private property. http://doa.alaska.gov/dmv/reg/snow.htm
Why ATVs are not titled or required to be registered, but snowmachines are require to be registered is inexplicable.

I put our tags on top of the front cowling. Might not be the correct place, but it is about the best.

How would one define the "correct place"?

I think one of the main reasons to register ATV's once is to record with the State that you own the vehicle in case it is ever stolen.
