Thread: Which gun safe?

    Default Which gun safe?

Wasn't sure where to post this, so please bear with me.

I recently had a home security system installed and I am looking to upgrade and relocate my gun safe. There are so many gun safes out there and I have been reading reviews and would like to hear your opinions.

Looking for a safe that a thief would have to destroy or haul off to gain entrance.

It needs to have a good fire proof rating.

I want it to be water proof.

It needs to hold 15 rifles, several hand guns, optics, misc. valuables, documents, etc.

They are all to heavy to haul off.
Fire proofing is the toughest because what happens most often is the safe is structurally intact after the fire but it gets so hot inside that the contents combust (paper documents, and firearm stocks). So pay attention to the fine print in how they determine the rating.
Safe capacity is always bogus. Get one 2x larger than you need and all your rifles will fit. Mine is half full based on what the thing is advertised but sometimes I have to unload the darn thing to get at a rifle in the back.
