    Default Low RPM in reverse

1987 Yamaha ProV 150 with a jet on it.

Motor runs great. Fires right up and pulls strong but when I put it in reverse, It feels gutless. RPMs don't seem to rise a lot with the throttle motion and there is no power.

The bucket is dropping in and out like it should and there is no binding to speak of in the throttle.

Any ideas or tips on where to look? I'm guessing a peek inside the control box is in order but who knows.... I did a search but nothing jumped out at me.

    Thanks

Could be but, I seem to remember a bit more backing power than I have now. Other than that it all runs good so I could just be imagining things.....

I figured I'd pull the control apart and take a look. I seem to have heard about a plastic gear/cam in there breaking off and causing an issue but don't remember where I heard that so I figured I would ask around before diving in and everything else is working just fine.

    If it ain't broke......
