    Default Tustumena lake goat hunt

I won the DG356 Indian creek permit and was hoping for some tips on what would be my best chance at getting to a goat.

I have been in this area one time before on the same permit hunt (not my permit) but it was unsuccessful. We were on the southern edge of the boundary and we saw a few goats but in an inaccessible area.

I'd like to know when would be the best time to go, and maybe get pointed in the right direction.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I've killed a few sheep in that area and have seen goats in there with them as well. If you can afford it it's always good to be able to fly the area first to see what approach you'd like to take. Time wise depends a lot on what kind of hide you want from your goat, assuming you'll be saving the hide either life size or shoulder. Later always produces better hides but you take the chance on dealing with poor weather. Earlier and shorter hair and warm weather....even though those short haired goats can look kinda nice sometimes. I know of a few ways in as I'm sure you do as well. Pm me if you want to discuss it more....
Sheep hunting...... the pain goes away, but the stupidity remains...!!!

Fun hunting up there. Not too difficult of terrain in most areas so you can cover some ground.
