Default Talkeetna to clear creek tips?

Anyone have some tips for getting up to clear creek. Want to take the kids fishing here in a few weeks. Took a charter a few years back but after looking at Google maps I don't think I remember the initial route. Pretty sure we went by the bridge but again it's been a couple of years since I've been there.

Water is really high right now. Could probably launch and go right up River. Last time I rafted it, we used the channel that comes in right beside the train bridge. After you get up a bit it's pretty straight forward. Someone else here might have a more detailed route. I was rafting it.

    AMMO JAY,

I have a cabin up around there and know the river well. Give me a shout at work...

Interested in this trip as well. Won't be able to make it this year though.

Follow Mahay's or Tri-River, otherwise prepare for an adventure.

I wasn't saying go with a charter, I was saying the best way to find the main route to Clear Creek is to follow a charter boat up the river on your first trip.

This trip isn't too technical. Just go down from
the boat launch to the train bridge, then run up that main north channel. Going up there is a fork I usually take left. I have never gone right going up, but sure it could be done. After the fork it's another couple miles up. Pretty easy going, as long as you can read the top of the water. Clear creek will be on your right. If you are going in, be wary of the boulders on the left side of the entrance.

Clear creek will be on the left where the river bends back to the east, not right. Look for the color change. The run is very easy.

    Right before the bridge.
    Left channel.
Read water keep going up river
    Cabins on you right
Stay on right side of river
    River bends left
    Stay on right.
    Long straight section
    River makes a hard right
Cross over at that hard right turn the river makes
You ll see the clear water

Here a pic of the mouth of clear creek
