    Default PWS-Whittier Silvers?

Anyone run into silvers out in the Sound yet?

Picked one up trolling next to Main Bay near Falls last weekend, went to try over by Latouche Passage but kept catching pinks.

I know that is not quite the same area, but sounds like similar timing on silvers

Headded out next weekend for a few days. Going way South after Ling and probably look for a silver or two.

Update, there are silvers outside of Main Bay down to Crafton. Had to troll for a long time and get the depths right bit ended up with six fatties yesterday before we bailed due to weather forecast.

Thanks for the update. were you trolling w/ Brads or something else to keep the pinks away...or were you just sorting thru pinks to get the silvers?

Had one king candy and one fbr working. Caught equal on both and only got a couple pinks. Actually cooked one up for lunch and it was great. Only had to cull two pinks all day.

Dang, I was there on Friday, and got nothing so I did not go back. I trolled Saturday after getting our halibut just about everywhere else and could not find them; I guess I should have tried Crafton one more time.

Well it was not on fire. We trolled for probably 4-5 hours starting from an hour before high. Only boat there for quite a bit of the time. Saw a few others trolling outside Eshamy but never saw action.

Did you happen to notice whether the bites were coming when you were trolling any particular direction (ie. into the current or with it)?

We got 4 nice silvers on Saturday around Main Bay. They ranged from 13 pounds to 8 pounds. We were trolling with the down rigger balls at about 100'. Also got a few pinks.

No love for us on Silvers either Friday or Saturday. Tried Culross, Applegate, McClure, and Main Bay. We did not fish that deep though. 90' was the deepest we set the riggers. The Kings on the other hand were hot on Thursday. Caught 10 kept the 6 biggest, the heaviest of those were 30 and 35/#. The 30/# a 20 and a 10/# were all white kings. We got plenty of Salmon meat just not Silvers not complaining though. Starting to get concerned this will be another bust year for silvers on the sound but it is still early.
