Reds on the Gulkana July 3rd
Well as many of you know we have had some very skinny water on the Gulkana River this June and I was very concerned about our up=river raft trips. When I start seeing damage to my rental gear we tend to shut down putting our rafts in the canyon area. No damage so far this year!
The rain gods have looked our way in the past 5 days and we are seeing the water levels come up nicely. Got lots of rain today as well. Water clarity is good, river is up almost a foot at the bridge and the fishing is good! If your planning a float now would be the time guys!
We are seeing good numbers of Reds being taken in the Poplar Grove to Sailor's Pit section. Twin Rocks is really producing well. Lots of non-floaters are taking fat Reds at the Bridge area but having to work a bit harder than needed. Get a raft guys and the hold are right there.
Try a Fish Cat! 9 foot catamarans, light and easy to operate! $65 a day makes them a bargain!
