Thread: Snowtrack defunded

    Default Snowtrack defunded

Today the governor vetoed the transfer of our registration fees to Snowtrack. Instead the 250,000 will be used to pay for general government services.

    This is BS.
I pay for registration on 2 machines so I can have trails to ride on.
If there's no trail funding then what's my motivation to renew?
When I worker for the MN DNR all registration $$$ went to fund trails and related projects.
It just makes sense that way.
But hey our governor knows best.lol

We have 5 machines that are coming up for renewal and I am having second thoughts about paying for the renewals. I had no issues in the past with paying the fees, as long as I knew that the funds were going to support my riding activities. Since this appears to no long be the case, what is the down sides of not renewing?

So Tim, you would rather the fee you pay to register your snowmobile go to fund governmental growth rather than get returned to a snowmobile fund?Walker didn't veto the fee, just the mechanism to return it to the users.....

So I received my 4 renewal notices in the mail yesterday for my snow machines. Don't think I will pay it as money no longer goes to what it was designed for. What is everyone else's opinion? And I guess part 2 of this is, what for or where do you NEED to ride before registration would be required to avoid tickets/fines. I normally only run the Big Su and up the Deshka to our cabin.

I got two and I'm not paying. You are required to be registered if off you property, but I have a mix of registered and non-registered sleds and I've only been asked for registration at Arctic Man four years ago. I actually hope they ticket me. I'm taking it to court.

Send the bill to ASAA they where big supporters of the point of sale bill and what was said would happen is going to happen and a few of the folks that benefit from taking money from everyone are going to cry like they said I have been over their 10 dollars.
