    Default Tanners K Bay 2016?

Is the CI tanner fishery going to open for 2016? I can't find a EO saying no unless I missed it.

I couldn't find an EO so called Homer F&G several weeks back and was advised the EO last year said closure for 2015 and 2016---but still can't find it. Keep hoping I got info from the folks that should know--but we'll see

I heard that there is no money for the abundance studies needed to open this fishery back up. Bummer....

Have been seeing more Dungies in CI than I have in a very long time. Hopefully crab populations here are on an upswing.

Too bad they wouldn't allow a sport fisher to conduct a survey for them with sport fisher keeping part of the catch......

If they ever do open it back up I think it would be more sustainable if it was open after September instead of July when the population of the Peninsula goes up ten fold

And the crab are harder shell and fuller meat. Too many soft ones in July that don't do well after they are released.

I totally support that. Would they need observer coverage? Ha!
