    Default Snagging Salmon

Will be in Ninilchik halibut fishing later July 2016.. In the event we can get in on snagging salmon this season in Homer, I want to get geared up. What is the recommended set-up? Treble hook size, weight of hook and line test.

Is snagging ever open in Kenia or Seward also?? Any help on this would be of help...thanks

. Mostly true, but it's not legal in all saltwater areas. Be sure to check the regs. No snagging in Cook Inlet north of Anchor Point

You can snag at the mouth of the Resurrection in Seward, 6 a day. Its been hit or miss. Waders required if you don't want to get wet. Kachemak is closed to snagging until June 23rd or 24th I believe but theres not much at that time. With the kenai being pretty poor (conditions and numbers) for the early run if you want some reds in the freezer that's probably your best bet.

Fishin' Hole in Homer shouldn't be open for snagging til later...if you can get across K-Bay to the south side you can hit some amazing snagging opportunities in July....or try the east side of the spit at low tide...

I usually get all I need, just looking for some evening fun when snagging is open, never tried it but looks fun... I got some leaded treble hooks, 8/0 1.4oz and 1.5oz, using 25 pound line and a 30 pound line spare
