    Default Outboard jet performance question

I just recently purchased my first motorized boat. It's a 1652 riveted lowe olympic with a 98 60/40 Johnson two stroke. It had a issues getting on step and seemed slow and underpowered when I first bought it. I cleaned up the impeller, shimmed it as close as I could, and fixed an issue with the reverse gate not going all the way forward. It's running at 5500 rpm wot now which is what the manual says it should run at. It gets on step with ease now. I'm getting 22 mph upriver and 27 mph downriver with a passenger on the Chena between Nordale and the flood control project. All and all I'm happy with the performance. Thst being said, should I be getting a higher top end speed, or does this seem about right for my setup?

Sounds about right for that set up.

Awesome, I'll stop fiddling with it before I break something.
