Sue Moore at howling wolf furs in Kasilof does really good work. We are going to make an area rug with black and brown bears and need one more of each to do it. I have talked to her about it and she said o problem, I'm sure a blanket would be easy for her.

Do you have any photos of them? I'd never though of actually making a blanket out of the bear hide before, but now I'm super interested in the idea!

If you are going to have a blanket done, it should be garment tanned, not taxidermy tanned. Moyle Mink or Tubari can garment tan your hides. Then the hides need to be shaved thin enough so they can be sewn up. Especially a heavy bear. Make sure whoever sews them up uses a fur machine and not hand sewn. Heavy hides like a bear will need a 'B' machine. An 'A' machine won't sew up a heavy bear.
I had Don Clifford, 303 775-5468, sew up these throws for me. He is very reasonable if you provide the hides.
