    Default Kicker Advice

So it looks like my project will have the main and kicker hung next Monday. Both are remote control and the kicker will go on the transom next to main. The two will be drag linked together. I'm wondering if there is a particular advantage to mounting the kicker on one side of the main as opposed to the other? I just hadn't thought about it...any input appreciated.

The starboard side is where you want the transducer since this is the side where the propeller blades are moving downward meaning minimal disturbance from the propeller. That puts the kicker on the port side. Unless of course you have a thru-hull not on the transom then disregard

Good point, Tim. The 'ducer will be transom mounted. It will be strange to have a kicker on board...maybe now I won't be so puckered up all the time.

Having a counterweight when motoring solo is a secondary gain!
