Originally it was worse, at least they have it upright now.

I bet it involves two words, or the lack thereof:

    Tie downs.

That looks more like a Duckworth rather than a North River. Either way it makes me want to cry.

We drove by that. I told the GF they will need to ty some deflated buoys together, then inflate them under the boat to drag it back on the trailer.

Ouch, hope no one was hurt, the hull doesn't look too bad from that angle, hopefully it's not too bad. I'm really surprised how many poorly tied down loads I see on the highways, not just boats. I admittedly over tie mine (24'), minimum of , 2 10,000lb 2" yellow straps, one across the transom behind cleats so it can not slide off and one across the hull about 6 feet back from the bow, plus the bow strap of course. I've seen some boats look like they were bouncing up and down on the tongue over dips and frost heaves which can't be good for the tongue. Our roads are bad, tie 'em up good.

Is that headed up the hill by Soldotna? There is a local gent here on the forum with a black Duckworth, just not sure if it has the double rub rails. Good looking boat to see positioned such.

A guy pulled out in front of him and he had to make a violent turn.

Remember the trailer hold the weight of load once centrical force takes over it doesn't matter how much you have a chain down strapdown she's going off. Spent my life hauling heavy load from the farm in Montana to oil fields of Alaska.

Old timer told me this the trailer holds the load not chains.

Sad deal for the own of the duck worth. Hope she back in the water quickly

If the top picture was taken after the bottom one--which appears the case--looks like it held up better than it could have. As much as I hate to see/hear of things like this--from a durability standpoint, sure would love to see close ups of what it sustained and what it didn't.

I wonder if the trailer has rollers or a carpeted bunks? Either way, I feel bad for the owner.

Makes me want to throw up. If the story is true that action was taken to miss someone pulling out i hope the person stopped.

Makes my stomach turn.... I would be interested in how it was strapped to the trailer to see if there is anything for the rest of us to learn from. Having someone cut me off is always one of my biggest fears when towing.

Little update on the boat. Boat was only Secured by hand crank. No safety chain and no tie downs on rear!
