    Default North to Alaska

    Well the Roundup is over.

Plan on heading up to my new place in Alaska in the SQ2 in a couple of weeks. Here is my route plan. First night in Fort Morgan CO (KFMM) I'm thinking. Then maybe the next night in Miles City MT (KMLS) to I change my oil. Then onwards. Anyone along my route? Route comments appreciated. Can't wait to get started.

Have you seen the Grand Caynon of the Liard? After Fort Nelson the highway climbs and veers
South of a direct course to Watson Lake. An alternate flight path intercepts the Liard River to rejoin
highway at Liard Hot Springs. This alternate overflys an impressive section of whitewater ending in
an impressive pool formed of solid rock. There is a jeep road along the North side of the river below
the springs but mostly it's all tall timber and empty country. The highway section is very scenic but
this alternate along the Liard is a shorter lower option better in some weather conditions.

I flew over Liard Hot Springs a couple of years ago when I brought the SQ2 down to Texas. Was unaware of the Grand Canyon of Liard. Iíll check it out. Thanks.
