    Default Grizzly suggestions?

What caliber firepower do you all use for hunting grizz over bait?

One that will put a hole in its lungs. Seriously, don't overthink it. If you have a rifle that you already own, like, and have confidence in, use it. At the ranges you're talking about, as long as you're shooting a decent bullet, darn near any centerfire round would be fine.

.300 win mag did the trick last year, wouldn't hesitate to even use the .270... All putting a good hole in the lungs or breaking bone down.

My barrel is only 20 yards away, so not much energy is lost in that distance. Might as well try it with the bow this year!

Never had a problem running 180g swift A frames. Dropped countless bears (of all variety) furthest I have had a bear run ... 15 yards. Shot placement, shot placement, shot placement.

Countless bears and they've never ran past 15 yards? Wow.

When the time comes, I will choose a well placed arrow.

Nick best of luck, as an archery guy I know the "shot placement" is not always a given factor... I just like to carry a bit more firepower than my PSE when I play with some of the critters at one of my station. I do have a nice archery site that has produced a few fuzzy moose eaters.

Yep. I've killed two Griz with my 30-06 and 150 gr. Barnes X bullets. Neither went more than 25 yards.

Frankly, if I were gonna shoot a Griz over bait, I'd take my 375 Ruger just because I want something with knock down power at close range.

I prefer a well placed arrow but for rifle hunts will be using a .30-06

    Marlin 45-70 w/ a 325gr or a 12ga Mossberg w/ a Brenneke slug... At 18-20yds, they both work juuuuuuuusst fine!!
