    Default Which sheep?

You are on your first, and perhaps only, dall sheep hunt and you have two rams standing side by side. One is a typical, unbroomed, honest 40" full curl beauty. The other ram is an old warrior, broomed back heavy, 7/8 curl and 37 inches. Looks like a bighorn. Which ram do you shoot? Hypothetically, of course.

    Default Both would be dandies

I'd shoot the one my partner didn't want! I think a broomed ram with the horns you described would be a more rare trophy so I voted for that one. Those would be two beaut rams.

    Default Tough decision....

But I would choose the unbroomed ram based on the way you posed the question. It's my "first, and possibly only" sheep hunt. If I were a return hunter, I'd gladly take the broomed one...after all, I already have a 40" typical on the wall right. LOL

The truth of the matter is I would take the one that offered the most ethical shot and greater chance of harvest. I doubt one would taste better than the other on my dinner table...

    Default Surprising...

Pretty close vote. I'm waffling on which way I would go. It would be a nice problem to have.

Good luck to all the sheep hunters this fall. Hope you get to make that choice.

    Talking Both

Shoot both and then find somebody with a harvest tag!! Just kidding of course. I voted for the broomed ram. That 40" may get to be 45".

    Default personal preference

A 40", is still a forty , even if it does not score as well as the other sheep. Different strokes for different folks.

    Default Amazing

It is amazing how close this poll has stayed. I like the looks of those long thin lamb tips on the end of the horns. My partner went for the broomed ram. Perhaps we'll find both of them togetherr this year.

saw two rams just like this a couple years ago now. One 1 1/4+ curl ram and one heavily broomed off ram. Spent two days watching and trying to figure out how to get into bow range before the season ran out. The broomed was broomed heavy at full. Bad thing about them was they were in the valley floor, no way for a guy with a longbow to stalk a sheep on flat wide open ground, but it sure was awesome to watch and take it all in!!!

The first of the two to break that 30 yard barrior.

The best ethical shoot if time/place is an issue.

If time is not an issue I would take the double broomed. I have a 13 year old double broomed already. Let the other one grow even bigger and come back next year.

I'm not a sheep hunter, but I'd take the old broomed ram.

    That was a beautiful poll.

I didn't get to vote, but I'd say the one factoring in my favor.

Someone suggested the fattest, someone suggest the closest. Those are factors for me.

If we are talking Mass, then i would go for the Old broomer without question....to me, I like mass, the thicker the better, plus it shows that ram is an old warrior, any trophy hunter would agree.....K
