Default First trip to Upper Kenai, any hints?

Thinking about heading up to the Upper Kenai tomorrow to look for some rainbows with the wife. No boat, just a walk and wade trip. Would appreciate any tips on good access points or fishing strategies for this time of the year. Either way, we'll be heading up trying to enjoy the day.

You might want to start at the outlet of Kenai Lake (at the bridge). After that I'd park at any of the pull-offs between Sprotsman's and Jims and follow the trails to the river. I haven't been down this winter and don't know conditions, but that's what I'd do to get started.

How did it end up going?
    hook, line, sinker, done.

Good trip. Started at the bridge and worked our way down. Missed a couple but mostly slow for us. Later in the day after the sun starts to warm things up would have been a better idea. Live and learn.
