    Default E-tools/folding shovels

Does anyone have a recommendation for an entrenching tool/folding shovel? I'd like something that is 20-24" overall length with a folding shovel head. Rather stay away from the tri-fold tools/shovels. Would be used for digging cat holes, getting the wheeler unstuck, leveling tent sites.
    Thanks,
    Tim

You could always find either an old US GI wood handled e-tool or one from a foreign army. Online surplus stores work best as most local places probably don't carry them. Truthfully, I've always had good luck with genuine GI tri-fold e-tools but cheap knock-off imitations always fail miserably. Last I knew, Sportsman's Guide had reproduction t-handled jeep shovels that were pretty handy.

I've beat the fire out of the tri-fold real GI shovels and they hold up very well. Mine have a plastic cover that works well and keeps the dirt out of my 4 wheeler box. They aren't very efficient as a snow shovel but do work in a pinch so I carry them on the snow machines too.
Somewhere along the way I have lost the ability to act politically correct. If you should find it, please feel free to keep it.
