    Default Early Break Up?

    Hey guys,

Been out of state for the past month and I've been hearing rumors of early break up. So I'm interested in hearing from those Kenai Peninsula folks how the lakes and rivers are looking, specifically, Cooper Lake and Kenai. Thanks!

I think Kenai lake is free of ice.

indeed, Kenai is ice free. came by on Saturday, quite a few rafts out floating as well, river is way up for this time of year.
am pretty sure Cooper is still solid as they have been getting hammered with snow up high.

Kenai is ice free, as is Skilak. Took the wife and the boat out on Skilak last Wednesday afternoon for a little while and fished the Ptarmigan creek inlet on Kenai lake, Saturday for a bit. Only ice to fight was that on Skilak lake road, which was slick enough to make an ice rink jealous, and made pulling my boat a bit sporting. Launched from lower Skilak boat ramp.
