Default Draw Hunt Mistake DM325. Redraw?

While searching through the drawing hunt winners, for tags I was hoping to win, I ran across an oddity. As I understand it DM325 13A Central winter cow moose hunt is a Alaska Resident ONLY tag. 10 tags available 9 went to Alaska residents one went to a North Carolina resident.

Think ADF&G will draw another when they find out?

Could be military stationed there. My grandson put in for permits last year when he was in New River, NC. He is a Marine, currently serving overseas, but still could have applied. I'm saying, "RELAX."

True, under military rules. Individuals out-of-state and still active duty and maintaining AK residency can show lower 48 addresses and still be residents of AK for F&G.
North Carolina has many Coast Gaurd stations FYI

.....and I noticed that one forum member who drew some tag last year said F&G allowed him to hunt it this year due to his deployment. Had never heard of this but sure thought it a great thing to do for our servicemen...!!!

As the others have said most likly military. You can live in another state and still have Alaska as your resident state. I have known plenty of people to have done it and then they come back up here and hunt/fish during the seasons.

Guessing it is the military loophole. Come here for a tour and hunt as a resident and collect a dividend for your entire career. Not a slam, but it happens. I stayed, others left and changed their minds 16 years later when they retired down south.

And some of us finished our careers at other military bases and returned. Not all of us are bad apples. Not a rant but it's not necessarily a loophole either. Some do take advantage of it and others have gotten caught. To me it's not worth it to be dishonest.

Probably military, and he could have been born here and joined the military, but stationed out of state. Not all of us in the military are from the lower 48, I am, but know several others that were born and raised in AK.

My grandson was stationed in NC with the Marines. He applied for hunts last year. He is overseas right now.
