Anyone else get drawn? I got the call today and chose the KGB corridor. Cow or calf only tag.

I've been kicking rocks since the real draw. It caught me completely off guard this afternoon.

Interesting! I didn't expect that they would have a hunt this winter due to the low snowfall. So you're saying there's a chance... Good luck to you!

Received the same call today, a nice surprise and helps take the edge off last weeks goose egg!

I'm curious how long they're going to run the hunt this year. Man...that is most excellent for those who were called!

I haven't made it to the office yet to pick. I sent you a PM.

I also received the call yesterday for next week! Ran into the office before they closed. They put a lot of youth hunters in unit 1, so that is closed. I grabbed kgb road, and there is one spot left there for next week. There is a strip of road available on the parks north of willow creek that is any bull. All others are cow or calf. Sounds like they upped the number of permits released for next week typically it is 12-16, but next week it's over 29. Lots of roadkill this winter, despite the low snowfall. Also, the moose are getting larger for their age with the mild winters

I found statistics for 2012/2013/2014 hunts but nothing for 2015. Did they hold it? Just curious.

I have been seeing a few hunters in the morning between sheep creek lodge and the spur road wearing their orange vest

My buddy got drawn for this week. He was informed last week and they told him it would be the stretch on KGB for any moose. When he got up there on Wednesday, they changed it to the Parks Highway from mile 74-105 due to the moose in the KGB area "moved out". They told him of 72 moose road kills in that stretch (parks highway) this winter, 90% were bulls. So it was changed to an any bull tag for that area. He picked up his tag at 2:30 pm on Wednesday and killed a nice little 3 year old bull at 5:50 pm the same day. 10 yards and one shot to the head with the shotgun I loaned him. It's nice to see them allowing people to harvest animals in an ethical fashion, making clean kills to fill the freezer.

Did not even realize this was a hunt, very cool! Nice to see a proactive approach to reducing "moosehicle" accidents.
