Default Alone in the Fortress of the Bears

    Hey folks,

We just picked up a supply of Buck Nelson's new book, "Alone in the Fortress of the Bears". If you've enjoyed his videos, "Alone Across Alaska" and "700 Miles Alone by Backpack and Raft", you're going to love this new book.

CLICK HERE to visit the writeup in the store and order your copy. This would be a great read to toss in your pack for those days when you're holed up in camp with bad weather.

    Price: $19.95

I put together a 5-minute highlight video of this trip. Might be nice to see some green in the middle of the winter!

Thanks! I think there's a lot of people here on this forum, including you, who've seen and experienced a whole lot of what this state has to offer. We're all lucky!

We've seen a lot, but when I sit and day dream it feels like there's so much more I'm missing!

Exactly. Although I love to hunt and fish, I mainly started guiding just to get the opportunity to see more of Alaska. By the time I quit I still only saw a very small faction of it. It's just having the time and money to get out and go and do these things on a more consistent basis nowadays that always has me missing it. And by the time I retire, whenever that may be, I'll probably be too old to want to do that much, or at least anything like this. The old saying (pertaining to time and money)...."had I known then what I know now"....I most assuredly would have done things differently. I have to say, I sure am envious of those that were able to retire in their early/mid fifties.

Thanks everyone! budman, I'm glad you've liked the videos. No DVD about this trip, just the book. I've probably made my last DVD.
