    Default Khaz Bay

Any of you Sitka fishermen been up to the Khaz Bay area to fish? Where did you go and for which species? Thinking of taking a trip there this summer but would like a little help on where to fish for kings, coho, halibut, etc...

    Thanks!

    Hey Spooled,
Here's where we've found chinook in June in years past. If there are candlefish there will be kings there eventually.
Look where I've placed the crosshairs and note the depth. there's a nice trolling drag right there.
This is a screen shot from the Navionics ap with the Sonar Chart function activated which gives the best and most accurate detail that I've seen for SE AK charts.
Hope that helps and good luck!

Have never fished as far north as Khaz. I will say that Fortuna Strait inside of Klokachef Island, or the Sharkhole on the Baranof side of Salisbury Sound would be good bets. If you can make it out to the red can off of Cape Georgiana you should be able to get into some fish.
