    Default BOF Nominees

Looks like there will be 2 open positions.

What are the guesses as possible nominations?

I would throw Reuben Hanke and Adam Reid in the mix as well

    Thanks Yukon. That was classy.

Don't know a lot about the other two nominees, but I wonder- will this upset the "tenuous 3-3-1 balance" that Stoltze and KRSA are always so concerned about?

    Yeah, fun. Woohoo.

Interesting that those most protective of their own identity here are often the most focused on revealing the identity of the participants they disagree with.

Some friends and I were brainstorming good people for possible nominations. I jokingly suggested Jesus, but was quickly reminded that his would have to be considered a commfish seat since he associated with net fishermen. Yes, it seems even Jesus would not be fair enough for some folks...

See how I did that Yukon? I made a joke without posting private people's names on a public forum.

So it is okay for Hoose35 to do it? I made no link to anyone's "forum name" in relation to a real name. We all have our forum names, I protected that. I posted to names of people that are active at BoF meetings and interested in fisheries management, just as Hoose35 did.

Au contrar! He was able to walk on water, raise the dead, turn water into wine, silence the politicians, and multiply the loaves and the fishes. If ya think about it, those are the exact traits needed for the position. Unfortunately, if a nominee can't do those things, they might not make it onto the BoF....

So far your thread is worthless except for the news links.

    This thread is improving!

Yes Coho, but despite those things, he associated with net fishermen. And that, to some, is all that matters

Indeed, but he was also astute enough to convince those net fishermen to put down their nets, and become fishers of men (quoting the Good Book). As I recall, they didn't resume netting as a profession. That's gotta count for something........

I think Ruffner will do a good job, will listen to all user groups, put the resource and habitat first and be fair. I didn't oppose him the first time and was shocked he didn't make it. From what Ruffner said in his interview it sounds like he has the support from some that didn't support him before and with the fact that the commercial fishermen strongly supported him last time he will get approved this time.

I don't know the other two guys and what they have done. My guess is that the governor has reached out to more people and got more input about the appointees and they will get approved. That being said, I am usually wrong and this is fish politics so one never knows until all the votes are counted.
