Does that money go to the states general fund or does it go to fish and game? Or more specifically does it go to sheep research and projects? I'm just curious.

IIRC, it all must go into the general fund as does the drawing hunt application money.

Maybe we could balance the budget by auctioning "ALL" of the draw permits.........

All that money and over the counter tag guys shoot bigger one's. Mighty kind of the big dollar folks to donate to the state.

Money generated from these auctions DOES NOT go to general funds. Its spilt 70-30 with nonprofit the tag was give to with 70% going to ADFG. the nonprofit has direct say in where the money is allocated.

Example: the MSDGA got two permits to auction this year. The MSGDA required that any money generated from the sale of these tags be used to fund the harlequin duck study in Kachemak Bay.

Vern, that changed. Money can now be directed. Great win for all.
