Got this guy this weekend with my boys. We caught it in a blind set. In the picture with my boys, you can see a big log in the background. The snare was set under the log and a nice trail going right underneath the log.

Nice going! I also snared a nice grey male where the pack had a well worn trail under a big down fall tree. It was like a "no brainer" place to set!

Yeah, he was about 110 lbs. Good load on the shoulders packing him out.

Great! Thats one big puppy dog! I wish we could snare here on dry land - has to be at least 50 % in the water...

Well, was hoping I'd be starting a thread of my own in a few days, and I don't want to hijack,Bushwack, ( ha! Couldn't resist), but have an interesting developing wolfie story coming your way soon. I saw one 4 diff times this aftrnn on a walk from my house w the dog. (More on that later when he's hanging in my garage in a few days. )
But, to your query,.... Terrible snow conditions and warm temps have made the snogo a No-go. That really cripples my normally easy adventures. So that has almost shut off (for now) my chasing wolves so far where I normally go. So only been after em twice and fresh pair of tracks after that ft we had, and no tracks in another area I usually find em.
Cant believe I got some living in my hood just a 5 min walk out my drive! Should be an interesting next few days.

Beautiful wolf Jack. Did the beagle pee on it?

Was this up in the Copper Valley?
