Glad I sold 3 snow machines before it became apparent how it was going to be.

Agreed! Next trip to town I'll be looking for some chains/cables for the tires on the atv's. Everything is ice down this way and when it get 34 or above (or rains) even the atv's are helpless.
Anyone have any helpful hints on chain/cable setups for atv's?

Thanks for the link, AG. I don't often buy stuff online but may just do it on this item. What about those chain 'tensioners'? Do u need those too for keeping them on?
And sorry to hijack your very important thread!
PS.(AG)... Just got word my Scout II is on its way.

Yea.....the chain tensioner's are good, or lower the tire pressure, install the chains, then re-inflate. Must have the "V" Bar type. I buy almost everything from Amazon "Prime" now.........just started ordering groceries online with free delivery to the bottom of my hill.

I use the "Ice Gripper" chains. More traction and they chip the driveway up a little making walking easier. For keeping them tight I just use one bungie and it works well. Practice putting them on in good weather and the process is easier when it gets bad out.

Yup. Only about a foot of snow, but can't complain about +teens and twenties, eh?

I have 2" to 6" of ICE everywhere and NO snow. I have four pair of CALK logging boots and use them all in rotation.

Any 'link' or anything to show me, Dave? Or a store etc where u got them? One other thing... I was gonna get two pair cuz I have two atv's but I assume a guy needs only one pair on a machine in most cases? And I like the bungie cord idea.

I could be wrong.............but I think he is talking about the same chain as the "V"-Bar chain.

3 winters in a row of poor snow and a good 20% of the winter above freezing. I've been keeping track. Somebody hasn't been doing the snow dance!
