    Default My first ptarmigan

My first ptarmigan. I got two out of first set I saw. The second I pushed my luck and they flew away as I got to close to them. Later I got one more. So I took home three. Was a great day out there snowshoeing last week.

You really know how to rub it in don't ya?! Congrats on your first and I wish you luck on many more! Get a dog and you're success rates will likely climb drastically. Good times being out regardless of tools or company.

That's awesome! Has anyone shot any up in the mountains in Cooper Landing?

I've been making an effort to find birds around Cooper Landing the last couple winters. Haven't seen much. I've tried all along Snug Harbor road, Resurrection pass trail, and Quartz Creek. Saw one bird on the the Crescent Creek trail, and that's about it. Still need to try Mystery Creek road.
