    Default Clear creek reports?

Anybody been up here the last few days? Is the main channel still running thru the Dolly Hole as last year?

    Thanks in advance.

    Default Hmmmmmm

I posted a similar thread a few days ago and nobody answered. :-( That must mean one of two things... either nobody using this forum has fished there yet this year, or they are slaying the Kings and want to keep it to themselves! I'd bet they are killin em there right now!!

We went last weekend and it was very slow. Only brought back one fish out of four guys and only saw 3 other fish caught.

    Talking

HELL of a party down there tonight...or last night (Thursday) at Axel's camp...Bluegrass band, keg....somebody's 10 year anniversary!

Yep, I got back from there Tuesday night and the wife and I caught our limit Mon-Tues of Kings. Pockets of Kings are moving through and there are a LOT of Reds to be caught. Fishing, depending on the hole you are fishing is AWESOME!

We fished with corkies, spin-nglo's and I used a flatfish down the current of Clear Creek to catch mine...was awesome! Some are starting to "red" up but the ones we caught were like they just left the ocean....silver and FRESH!

We'll be leaving for the Klutina River this Mon-Tues and hope to slay the reds and maybe an occasional King!

    Good Luck all!

    Cool Clear Crk

I went up there last Sunday and Wednesday of this week. Sunday the water was low but manageable up the far left side channel (mostly used by everyone) and the middle channel (doable if you know the way). The far right side (never used) is narrow, fast and zig-zagged bigtime. Lots of fun there.. I went up all 3 on Sunday and do not recommend the far right channel unless you really know what your doing and are lightweight. When I went up on Wednesday, the river had dropped another foot. Lots of gravel all the way up to Clear Crk. I went up the far left side channel. Didn't even try for the middle or far right side channels. The guides (Tri Rivers, Mahays, Fish Bone) have the mouth all choked off up at the lower creek entrance and they park their friggin' boats all over the place. The upper creek doesn't even hardly exist anymore. They are also versing their clients to not let "others" (meaning locals) in. I called BS and crowd 'em anyways on Wednesday. They don't own that place even though they THINK they do. Sunday we caught 1, but we weren't able to even get onto the gravel bar that day. Way too many "clients" packed in like chord wood and the guide boats that were parked literally everywhere. Had to fish around everybody, what a pain. Wednesday was better for fish'n, we got our limit (2 of us), but we spent more time untangling our lines with smilin' tourists then fishing. People-wise, I don't think that it'll get any better by the weekend, probably worse. Are the fish there? Yes.. Is it crowded? You can sure bet your ***** it is.... Good luck if ya go!
