Well, big changes this month on the Alaska Outdoors Supersite!
The only constant in life is change, and this month is seeing one of the biggest changes in our site in a long time. Pam (known in our forums as "Icebear") is retiring! Her and her husband plan to ride off into the sunset on their Harley after faithfully working with us since the site started in 1996. During those years she helped grow and maintain the site in many ways, often behind the scenes. During the nearly 20 years she's been with us she has build thousands of ads for our customers, made many thousands of sales calls to help ensure our financial survival, nuked tens of thousands of spam accounts from our forums, registered many thousands of new members, helped track down old usernames and passwords for our members, kept track of our finances (riding the brake when necessary), and helped us deal with problems as they came up. She's been a hard worker, a great sounding board, and an amazing friend. She's even had to rebuff the approaches of more than one forum member who didn't realize that she's been happily married for many years!
Pam, you are amazing. You deserve the highest honor and heartfelt thanks for all you have done to help put us on the map, and to help serve this incredible community. I think I speak for the entire forum community in expressing my profound gratitude for all you've done here.
I wish you all the best as you move on to this exciting new chapter in your life. I know you will check in here from time to time, and of course you are always welcome here.
All the best to you and Marlin,
