    Default Kenai timing

I am sure this has been asked before, but I didn't see a thread about it so I will ask. After not coming up to fish the Kenai for quite a few years, I am planning to bring my family for a week the summer of 2017 to fish reds and maybe a halibut charter. In the past, we have come in late July or early August. If you had to pick a week this far in advance, what would you select? I am thinking about the lat week of July and renting a place near Sterling. Thanks in advance.

typically I would say the last 2 weeks of July and the first week of August is the best time, but you need to know when the comm guys have their nets out because they can choke the river off and it will dry up.

Late July no doubt. If they are early fish them high, if on time or late fish the lower/middle. First week in August can be good too.
