    Default Caribou chest size?

I'll be going on my first AK caribou hunt this fall and was looking for the depth of an average bull caribou chest to use as a range "guestimator" with my scopes duplex crosshairs.

Google search turns up a whole bunch of info on caribou, but I can't seem to find anywhere that gives the depth of a bull caribou's chest.

I surely would appreciate a little help here.

    Thanks

Default 20 inches seems to be average

I measured a few when I lived in Barrow for use with a mildot reticle on my scope. The limit was five per day, so I had plenty of "test subjects." Most bulls measured 20 inches consistently.
    Good luck.

    Default measurements

Gunslinger is right, the average bou will be around 20-23 inches and the bigger bulls will only be an inch or to differance and same for the smaller ones, inch or 2 smaller
