If you know who did this tell them there is another set on the shed. Come get them so I can solve this antler thief problem

    Why would I clam
Homeowners insurance on a moose rack? Sure they were worth a lot of money and more than that in memory of a great hunt. But no reason to claim it on home owners insurance. If much rather beat some guys ***** when I catch him taking my other rack on the shed.

My sister's house was similarly hit a couple years back. She had a couple sets of my dad's antlers that were ripped off the garage, with one left hanging sideways that they couldn't pry loose. Still makes me upset to think about those memories stolen - worth so much more than the monetary value.

    Sorry to hear of this.

How high up was that? Any chance a bear could have pulled it down?

Bears? Heck no. They are three years old and no bears in my area. Heck my trash can had more scent in it than this bone.

There was an add on Craigslist yesterday from someone in Palmer soliciting to buy moose and caribou antler's. Might be a good idea to give him a call to be on the lookout.

There has been a lot of antlers stolen in the Chugiak/ER area in the last couple months.

The stupid dog chew bone/antler market is crazy and has driven the price sky high. The low lifes know they can get fast cash for them, and the worthless antler buyers don't care.

A few well placed number 5's might catch the "wolves" that are stealing antlers.

I think a claymore would be a little more effective than a leg hold trap.

    Wow definitely a bummer Rob.
Be sure and call local horn buyers including the ones down here on the peninsula. I know Tom Cooper buys/sells horns.
I would also post on the crime groups on facebook.
The odds are low but maybe if enough people can put some evidence together they will catch the buttholes doing this.

Holly crap Rob what a low life! I'm with BK on this but we could use my big fire pit and get rid of all evidence.

Very crappy thing to do! Sure hope they get caught. Just a heads up- there are quite a number of garages being broken into in that area as well. They are using a wire through the top of the garage and hooking the emergency cord (unlocking the door from chain) and opening it up. Advice is to zip tie the cord hanging to the frame so it can't be pulled unless the tie is cut.

People supplying the Oriental market. They think powdered antler and horns give them a rise.
They will even kill living animals just to get the antlers or gall bladders. Makes me furious!
