    Default Kodiak Antlers?

Looking at a Dec hunt and wondered when the antlers start to drop on Kodiak...

Probably not answering your question but I shot a buck last year on December 17 and his antlers fell off upon impact.

Depends on the year and the deer. Usually there are a good number of bucks that have lost their headgear by mid Dec. Many more are getting ready to drop them by then and they may pop off when they are shot, or when they fall, or when you try to drag them by the antlers. I have actually seen a few bucks sporting antlers there as late as Feb., but that is the exception, not the rule.
An opinion should be the result of thought, not a substitute for it.

That's about what I've seen in Southeast - thanks for the responses.

Many of the bigger bucks would lose their rack upon impact of being shot or when we attempted to drag them, at the end of Nov., beginning of Dec. Smaller bucks would still be attached nice and solid in that same time frame.

Shot a nice 4x4 buck in Kodiak back in December 2014, on or about 8th I think. I was able to drag it over 100 yards out to the beach with no problem. Was even able to haul it into the boat by the rack too.
