    Default Kodiak in April

Just found out I am going to be in Kodiak for an extended weekend in April. Was wondering what the fishing might be like that time of year and what (if any) charters might be running. Also if you are in Kodiak and have a boat and want a gas-paying partner who has plenty of boating experience and fishing experience let me know if you want to go out together.

Halibut are around, although slow. That time of year is when I'm usually searching for big kings, lots of kings around that time of year and no coho's and pinks to perster us and usually have the water to ourselves. Apr 4th I know we went 11-14 on kings and a 4lb silver. Then the winds started in and I was stuck fishing spots that I normally don't target for 2-3 weeks. Dollies are in the rivers/lakes, but slow at best. A warm sunny day you may be able to manage a few of those.
Life's to short for an ugly boat
