Default Deshka, Big Su, Yentna 9/2/2015

I went up the Yentna today from Deshka landing and the water was low but still passable, the confluence of the Su and the Deshka was really low. Seal island at the mouth of the Yentna is about double the size that it was earlier this summer. The Yentna itself wasn't bad but I had to stay left and then swing around and go back down river on the opposite river bank to stay in deep enough water to reach my cabin, I'm near Luce's old lodge. If anyone's planning a trip that's the update. If anyone goes up the Yentna in the next few days please post the river conditions here. I'm hoping to get two more weekends at the cabin before I put the boat away.

I was up there last week and the water was dropping quick. Barely enough to get into the slough by my property. We need some rain in the worst way to get the rivers back up for chasing bullwinkle!

I just got back from a four day weekend up at the cabin and the water was low but passable. I heard from a neighbor they stopped and helped three boats that were stuck on there way up. The trip home today wasn't bad but again don't blindly follow GPS tracks from this summer things have changed.

We came back sunday and the water was low but still easy. 5 guys in a 20 foot inboard with no problems.

Friend came back last night from a 4 day trip on the rivers, he hunted from the mouth of the kahiltna to the powerlines on the su with no problems. He said the water was definitely skinny though below alexander.

If I wasn't chasing bull winkle myself I would take that challenge on in a second Alexander! Just returned from upper yentna, water seemed fine, not to familiar with what it normally looks like though but we made it about 13 miles up the west fork.

You won't make it to Alexander without an air boat. Haven't seen a boat or floatplane in a week! Besides..... I accidently drank all the rum!

It did rain an inch on Monday. Has barely brought the water level up so far. Everyone is hoping it goes up one more time. A lot of docks sitting high and dry! Looks like it might be channelizing at the mouth some. Half way up from the gasoline is the worst. Still not enough water here for float planes and haven't seen a boat since an airboat came in a week ago. He didn't stick around very long for whatever reason. All these moose to myself, and I don't hunt till Tier 2 season!
